Boards of Education often find they have no real means of dealing with the conflicts that so often arise on elected bodies. A board in conflict is rarely able to be as effective as it should be. Providing a mediation and conflict resolution service to members is another way that TSBA fulfills its mission to assist school boards in effectively governing school districts.

What is Mediation and Conflict Resolution?

Mediation is a voluntary and structured process that involves a neutral third party, known as a mediator, to help resolve conflicts. A trained mediator facilitates open communication and negotiation between disputing parties, guiding them toward understanding each other’s perspectives, identifying common ground, and reaching a workable solution. This flexible and effective approach can be applied to a wide range of disputes, providing a constructive way to move forward so that boards can get back to effectively governing their school district.

How Does Mediation Work?

Mediation involves an independent third party who is trained to facilitate the process of bringing disputing parties into agreement. A mediator ensures that all voices and perspectives are shared and understood, and he or she empowers the parties to find a solution that meets each of their needs.

Mediation and Conflict Resolution Session: $2,500 per day
