Leadership Conference and Annual Convention
The TSBA Leadership Conference & Annual Convention will be held Thursday, November 18 to Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville.
The outstanding speakers, engaging clinics and timely workshops focus on helping school districts empower students. Board members will benefit from innovative ideas, network with national vendors in the Exhibit Hall and celebrate each other’s achievements. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from highly renowned speakers, register for a pre-convention workshop and choose from a wide array of clinic sessions.
Thursday, November 18 & Friday, November 19
Registration Fee: $175
To provide local board chairmen with the necessary tools to work effectively with the superintendent, other members of the board, the local funding agency and the public to improve student achievement.
In this workshop you have the opportunity to network with other experienced board chairmen. This interaction enables you to examine leadership styles, team building techniques, and to learn the traits of effective leaders.
Superintendents will receive one (1) day of CEO credit and school board members will be able to receive their annual mandatory training credit hours for the 2021-2022 cycle by attending the leadership conference.

The Pre-Convention Legal and Legislative Advocacy Workshops will be held on Friday.
You may only register for one of these workshops since they occur simultaneously.
Saturday, November 20, 2021
Registration Fee: $0
The Delegate Assembly, which is the official business meeting of TSBA, takes place on Saturday, November 20 from 2:30 p.m.- 4:15 p.m.
Each board holding membership in TSBA selects delegates to attend the Delegate Assembly as voting members. Only board members with a “Delegate” ribbon on their name badge will be admitted into the Delegate Assembly.
Floor seating will be available in the back of the room for those members wanting to observe. Delegate check-in will be required and will be organized alphabetically by system name. Delegates must check-in between 2:00 p.m. and 2:25 p.m. on Saturday in the Tennessee AB lobby. All registered delegates will receive their hard copy packet at the registration desk. An electronic copy of the Delegate Assembly packet was emailed to all school board members in October.
School Board Members must register as delegates by Friday, November 5, 2021.

Board Chairman Roundtable Discussion
The Board Chairman Roundtable Discussion will be held on Thursday, November 18 from 10:00 a.m. – noon.
Board Secretaries’ Meeting
The Board Secretaries’ Meeting will be held on Saturday, November 20 from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. Board members and superintendents that are not in the Delegate Assembly during that time are also invited to attend this session.

Friday, November 19 & Saturday, November 20
Booths of educational products and services will be featured in the Ryman Exhibit Hall with a reception on Friday, November 19 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and during and after the convention breakfast on Saturday, November 20 from 7:00 a.m. to noon. There will be a photo booth available during exhibit show hours for attendees to have a little fun while learning about new products and services.
Awards Reception and Ceremony
Saturday, November 20
TSBA has a room block at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. You must register for the convention before you will receive the reservation information. Once you register for the convention, you will receive a confirmation email with the group code for the hotel. The room rate at the Gaylord Opryland is $229 per night, plus tax for a Standard Room and $279 per night, plus tax for an Atrium Room. The deadline to make reservations is October 18, 2021.
WIFI ACCESS DURING CONVENTION
TSBA convention attendees will have Wireless Internet access in all meeting rooms.
All TSBA overnight guests of the Gaylord Opryland Resort will receive complimentary self parking. If you are not an overnight guest at the resort, you will be charged a daily parking fee. Valet parking is available. You will find free parking at the Opry Mills Mall with a walkway that connects to the Resort.
MEETING ROOM INFORMATION
TSBA Staff will be available to assist you in finding meeting room locations. Signage will be placed within the hotel and convention center to assist in guiding you to TSBA meeting rooms.

Your TSBA name badge will serve as your ticket for the above food functions.

Casual dress is appropriate for all events except for the Awards Reception & Ceremony, in which case Sunday dress is appropriate.
We are setting aside Saturday, November 20 as a day for boards to show their school system pride. If your board has matching shirts, please wear them on Saturday.
Please wear your name badge at all times. It is required for admission to all convention activities.
Exhibitor Tradeshow Registration
Friday, November 19 – Saturday, November 20
The tradeshow is an integral part of the Tennessee School Boards Association’s convention, and exhibiting companies are publicized prior to and during the convention. There will be a reception during the tradeshow hours on Friday, November 19 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and a convention breakfast during the tradeshow hours on Saturday, November 20 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., both of which take place in the exhibit hall.
