Leadership Conference and Annual Convention

The TSBA Leadership Conference & Annual Convention will be held from Thursday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8, 2026, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville.

The outstanding speakers, engaging clinics, and timely workshops focus on helping school districts empower students. Board members will benefit from innovative ideas, network with national vendors in the Exhibit Hall and celebrate each other’s achievements. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from highly renowned speakers, register for a pre-convention workshop, and choose from a wide array of clinic sessions.

Thursday, November 5 – Friday, November 6

Objective:
To provide local boards with the necessary tools to work effectively with the superintendent, other members of the board, the local funding agency and the public to improve student achievement.

Description:
In this workshop you have the opportunity to network with other experienced board members. This interaction enables you to examine leadership styles, team building techniques, and to learn the traits of effective leaders.

School board members will be able to receive their annual mandatory training credit hours for the 2026-2027 cycle and superintendents will receive one (1) day of CEO credit by attending the leadership conference.

The Delegate Assembly, which is the official business meeting of TSBA, takes place on Saturday, November 6 from 3:15 p.m.- 4:45 p.m.

Each board holding membership in TSBA selects delegates to attend the Delegate Assembly as voting members. Only board members with a “Delegate” ribbon on their name badge will be admitted into the Delegate Assembly.

Floor seating will be available in the back of the room for those members wanting to observe. Delegate check-in will be required and will be organized alphabetically by system name. All registered delegates will receive their hard copy packet at the registration desk. An electronic copy of the Delegate Assembly packet will be emailed to all school board members in October.

Exhibit Hall

Friday, November 6 – Saturday, November 7
Booths of educational products and services will be featured in the Ryman Exhibit Hall with a reception on Friday, November 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and a convention breakfast during the tradeshow hours on Saturday, November 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Door prize winners will also be announced at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday in Ryman Exhibit Halls B1-B3.


Awards Reception and Ceremony

The Awards Ceremony and Convention Luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

TSBA will have a room block at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. You must register for the convention before you will receive the reservation information. Once you register for the convention, you will receive a confirmation email with the group code for the hotel.

WIFI ACCESS DURING CONVENTION

TSBA convention attendees will have Wireless Internet access in all meeting rooms.

PARKING

All TSBA overnight guests of the Gaylord Opryland Resort will receive complimentary self-parking. If you are not an overnight guest at the resort, you will be charged a daily parking fee. Valet parking is available. You will find free parking at the Opry Mills Mall with a walkway that connects to the Resort.

MEETING ROOM INFORMATION

TSBA Staff will be available to assist you in finding meeting room locations. Signage will be placed within the hotel and convention center to assist in guiding you to TSBA meeting rooms. Your TSBA name badge will serve as your ticket for the food functions below.

ATTIRE

Business casual dress is appropriate for all events.

We are setting aside Saturday, November 7 as a day for boards to show their school system pride. If your board has matching shirts, please wear them on Saturday.

NAME BADGES

Please wear your name badge at all times. It is required for admission to all convention activities.

The tradeshow is an integral part of the Tennessee School Boards Association’s convention, and exhibiting companies are publicized prior to and during the convention. There will be a reception during the tradeshow hours on Friday, November 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and a convention breakfast during the tradeshow hours on Saturday, November 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., both of which take place in the Ryman Exhibit Halls B1-B3.
