Helen G. Martin

Helen G. Martin has served on the Warren County Board of Education since 2012. She served as Board Chairman in 2016 - 2017 and Co-Chair in 2015 – 2016. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Trevecca Nazarene University and works as a Customer Liaison at First National Bank in Middle Tennessee. She and her husband, Michael, have two adult children, Zack and Michaela. Helen enjoys reading and listening to music as her hobbies when she is not doing school board work.

Dr. Dale Viox

Arlington, At-Large Member

Bio

Dr. Dale Viox

Dr. Dale Viox has served on the Arlington Board of Education since 2013. He served as the board chairman in 2015 and in 2013, which was the inaugural year for Arlington Community Schools. He served as Tennessee Legislative Network representative in 2017. He has also served on the TSBA OPEB Trust since 2015 and served as the Trust’s Vice Chairman in 2017. Dale is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He devotes the majority of his time to the school board and the children of St. Jude. He and his wife, Dana have three children, Zac, Taylor and Jackson.

Jo Williams

Anderson County, At-Large Member

Jo Williams

Jo Williams has served on the Anderson County Board of Education since 2008. She served as Board Chairman in 2013; Vice Chairman in 2014-2016 and 2010 – 2012; and Policy Committee Chairman 2010-2018. She is a Level V Master School Board Member and a 2017 Master Ambassador. She served on the All Tennessee School Board in 2017. Other committees on which she has served include: East District Nominating Committee 2016-2018; Head Start/Early Head Start governing body representative 2009-2018; Anderson County Preschool Advisory Council 2012-2018; Coordinated School Health Advisory Council 2015-2018; Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education (AWARE Grant) Coalition 2015-2018; Allies for Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition 2011-2018; Collaborative Conferencing panel 2013-2018; and served as a delegate for TSBA convention 2010-2018 and as a credentials committee member. Jo is very active in her community having served on various committees and projects. She is retired from Anderson County Schools where she worked as the Executive Assistant for the Director of Schools. Jo and her husband, Kenneth, have two children, Kenna and Dara and five grandchildren, Shane, Tucker, Jake, Ellen and Sara.

Rick Wimberly

Williamson County, At-Large Member

Rick Wimberly

Rick Wimberly has served on the Williamson County Board of Education since 2011. He has served as Chairman of the Legislative Committee and Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee. He has served as Founding Chair/Current Trustee of the Education Foundation for Williamson County since 2015 and has served as Chairman for Destination Imagination in Tennessee since 2000. He has also held office and served on various non-education related committees, including: Federal Communications Commission Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council; Parish Council at St. Matthew’s Church; Radio TV News Directors Association of the Carolinas; United Press International New Directors of the Carolinas; and activities with Boy Scout Troop 444. Rick is the Chief Operating Officer of BOLDplanning, Inc. He and his wife, Kathy, have four adult children, Jessica Myers, Davis, Patrick, and Jami Wimberly, in addition to three grandchildren, Jett, Cecilia, and Issa. Kathy is a public school librarian. Davis and Jami work in higher education.
